I found a few different websites that are great resources for art teachers and below are the best of the bunch.
One of the best websites that I have seen for art teachers is the National Art Education Association. This site states the importance of art education and the lessons students will develop from art. It also includes many links to various art organizations, art curriculum and lesson planning, art research, and much more. The NAEA also provides websites for students- links to interactive activities, careers in art, scholarships and programs in art, and copyright information. When I become a teacher, this will be the first site I would look at if I needed information. It is a great resource because through this one website, it provides the most important and relevant links to the topic you are interested in.
In the National Gallery of Art website, there is a classroom section for teachers and students. Here, art teachers have access to lessons and resources by various topics (like specific types of art and elements of art) and artists. I think this is a great resource, especially for new teachers, because you can get ideas of different lessons they provide and adapt them to your own. It is also a great way for teachers to brush up on their knowledge of art history and different artists.
